Kaos Studios Shut Down by THQ

THQ today has confirmed that they are in the process of a strategic realignment which will close two studios, including Kaos Studios who was responsible for this years Homefront. Fears of this closure were made public in January when an insider exposed the studios intense work and overtime policies. The management is heard to be having meetings with staff about their future livelihoods and there is the possibility of offering them the opportunity to relocate to Canada to THQ Montreal.

The second studio closing is THQs U.K.-based developer THQ Digital Warrington. The company has announced that the newer Montreal studio will take over product development and overall creative management for the Homefront franchise. They also plan to create 400 new jobs in the Quebec area studio. Assassins Creed developer Patrice Desilets began working at the studio today and will start work on a new IP for THQ but there is still the possibility they will be continuing the work on the Homefront franchise.

Until then we will just have to wait and watch what happens next.
