Lauderdale’s McClellan falls short on “Voice’

You can be a rock n roller and you can be a contestant on a TV talent competition. But you cant be both if you want to win.

Fort Lauderdale club singer Beverly McClellan is the latest to learn that lesson. Like Chris Daughtry, who went on to become the most successful non-winner in “American Idol” history, and James Durbin, this season’s popular Idol hard rocker, McClellan, the only rocker in the final four of The Voice, could not get past the round of four.

No rocker has gotten past that point through 10 seasons of American Idol and the debut season of The Voice.

The Voice title went to Javier Colon, a crooner who was the only male among the final four. Colon, representing Team Adam Levine, won $100,000 and a recording contract.

Dia Frampton, representing Team Blake Shelton, was the runnerup. Carson Daly, host of the NBC series, said only two percent of the vote separated the top two.

It was not revealed whether McClellan, who was mentored by Christina Aguilera, finished third or fourth. It really doesnt matter.

What did you think of the outcome?
