Falling Skies is not a one-season phenomenon.

TNT has picked up the science fiction yarn for a second season of 10 episodes, which will air in the summer of 2012.

Falling Skies, which premiered June 19, has been averaging 6.4 million viewers weekly, including DVR playbacks and other forms of delayed viewing.

It also has become an international hit, playing in more than 75 nations. When you can sell it in that many countries around the world, it almost doesnt matter how well it does in the U.S.
