MANILA, Philippines—Singer Charice Pempengco of the hit TV show “Glee” appealed Wednesday for justice for her father, who was stabbed to death in her Philippine hometown, as police offered a reward and hunted for the suspect.
Authorities were preparing murder charges and will distribute public photographs of a man they said was intoxicated when he became angry after 40-year-old construction worker Ricky Pempengco brushed against him, San Pedro town police chief Kirby Kraft said.

Hey, Oscar fans: Do any of you have a strong emotional attachment to the Kodak Theatre, the home of the Academy Awards ceremony for the last decade? Because next year could be the last time the show is held there. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the Academy is dropping hints that it could leave the Kodak for another venue after its lease runs out in 2013. Whether you think that’s a good or bad idea probably depends on whether you think that the Oscars ought to stay in a theater custom-built for the annual ceremony.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — AARP The Magazine has announced its list of the top 10 movies of 2011 for the 50-plus audience.
The “Movies for Grownups” list “features thoughtful films with timeless entertainment value and a particular appeal for grownup audiences,” AARP said in a news release.
